ভয়াবহ সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার কবলে পড়ে অল্পের জন্য বেঁচে গেলেন পাকিস্তানের সাবেক অধিনায়ক ও তারকা অলরাউন্ডার শোয়েব মালিক। দুর্ঘটনায় স্পোর্টস কারের সামনের অংশ পুরোটা দুমড়ে গেলেও শোয়েবের মারাত্মক কোনো ক্ষতি হয়নি বলে জানা গেছে।
রোববার (১০ জানুয়ারি) রাতে পাঞ্জাবে পাকিস্তান সুপার লিগ-পিএসএলের ড্রাফট শেষে ফেরার পথে দুর্ঘটনার শিকার হন তিনি। এ ঘটনায় টুইটারে মালিক নিজেই নিশ্চিত করেছেন, তিনি সুস্থ আছেন।
জানা যায়, শোয়েব মালিক দ্রুতগতিতে গাড়ি ড্রাইভ করছিলেন। তার গাড়িটি নিয়ন্ত্রণ হারিয়ে লাহোরের হাইপারফরম্যান্স ইউনিটির সামনে রেস্তোঁরার পাশে ফুটপাতের পার্কে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা একটি ট্রাকে ধাক্কা দেয়।
রোববার লাহোরে অনুষ্ঠিত হয় পাকিস্তান সুপার লিগের (পিএসএল) নিলাম। পিএসএল নিলাম শেষে বাড়ি ফিরছিলেন এ তারকা অলরাউন্ডার। আগামী ২০ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে ২২ মার্চ করাচি ও লাহোরে হবে পিএসএল। পেশোয়ার জালমির হয়ে খেলবেন শোয়েব মালিক।
