ইতালিতে করোনা পরিস্থিতি বেশ স্বাভাবিক হলেও নতুন করে আবার ভারতীয় ডেল্টা ভ্যারিয়েন্টে ভুগছে দেশটি। বর্তমানে দেশটিতে ৭২ শতাংশ করোনা রোগীই ডেল্টা ভ্যারিয়েন্টে আক্রান্ত রোগী পাওয়া গেছে।
যার ফলে টানা ১৫ সপ্তাহ সংক্রমণ কমতে থাকা ইতালিতে আবারও ঊর্ধ্বমুখী করোনা। এর আগে আক্রান্তের সংখ্যা নেমে এসেছিল হাজারের নিচে।
কিন্তু গত তিন দিন ধরে হঠাৎ করে ৪৫ শতাংশ বেড়েছে সংক্রমণ। এদের ৭২ শতাংশই ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্টে আক্রান্ত। এতে চিন্তায় পড়েছে ইতালি প্রশাসন।
সংক্রমণরোধে সাধারণ মানুষকে সতর্ক থাকার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন দেশটির স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী রবার্তো স্পারেন্সার।
সম্পূর্ণ সাদা জোনের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ইতালিতে অনেকটা স্বস্তি ফিরে এলেও করোনার ডেল্টা বা ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্ট নতুন করে শঙ্কায় ফেলেছে প্রবাসীদের।
করোনার প্রথমদিকে ভাইরাসটিতে সবচেয়ে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত দেশগুলোর মধ্যে ইতালি অন্যতম। তবে সে পরিস্থিতি কাটিয়ে বেশ স্বাভাবিক জীবনযাপনে ফিরে এসেছিলো দেশটি। নতুন করে আবার ভাইরাসটির ভারতীয় ভ্যারিয়েন্ট অর্থাৎ ডেল্টা ভ্যারিয়েন্ট দুশ্চিন্তায় ফেলেছে সংশ্লিষ্টদের।
