ইন্দোনেশিয়ার অন্যতম বৃহত্তম তেল পরিশোধনাগার বালোঙ্গানে ভয়াবহ আগুন ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। স্থানীয় সময় সোমবার রাত পৌনে ১টার দিকে হঠাৎ আগুন ছড়িয়ে পড়ে ইন্দোনেশিয়ার রাষ্ট্রীয় তেল কোম্পানি পের্টামিনা পরিচালিত এই পরিশোধনাগারে।
এ ঘটনায় অন্তত পাঁচজন গুরুতর দগ্ধ হয়েছেন। এছাড়া আহত হয়েছেন আরও অনেকে। নিরাপদ আশ্রয়ে সরিয়ে নেয়া হয়েছে আশপাশের প্রায় ৯৫০ অধিবাসীকে। দমকলকর্মীরা আগুন নেভানোর চেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
বলছে, আগুন লাগার কারণ এখনও জানা যায়নি বলে জানিয়েছে পের্টামিনা। তবে তা শুরু হয়েছিল ভারী বৃষ্টি ও বজ্রপাতের মধ্যে।

পরে এক সংবাদ সম্মেলনে সংস্থাটি জানিয়েছে, আগুনে তাদের তেল পরিশোধন সক্ষমতায় কোনও সমস্যা হয়নি। তবে সতর্কতাস্বরূপ আপাতত তেলপ্রবাহ নিয়ন্ত্রণ এবং পরিশোধনাগারটি বন্ধ রাখা হচ্ছে।
আগামী পাঁচদিনের মধ্যে সব কার্যক্রম আবারও চালু হবে বলে আশা করছে কর্তৃপক্ষ। পরিশোধনাগারটি দৈনিক ১ লাখ ২৫ হাজার ব্যারেল তেল প্রক্রিয়াজাত করতে পারে।
