বাগেরহাটের মোংলা উপজেলার ঠোটারডাঙ্গা গ্রামের তালপট্টি খালের উপর এলজিইডির নির্মিত ব্রিজটি মাঝ দিয়ে ভেঙ্গে খালের মধ্যে পড়েছে। মঙ্গলবার বিকেলে ব্রিজটি ভেঙ্গে পড়ায় এলাকার কয়েকটি গ্রামের কেয়েক হাজার মানুষ চরম দুর্ভোগে পড়েছেন।
লোকজনের যাতায়াত ও যান চলাচল সম্পূর্ণ বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে।
গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তালপট্টি খালের পাকা ব্রীজটি ভেঙ্গে পড়ায় এখন বিকল্প পথে বাড়তি কয়েক কিলোমিটার পথে ঘুরে চলাচল করতে হচ্ছে লোকজনকে। ওই এলাকার অধিকাংশ নারী ও পুরুষ মোংলা ইপিজেড ও বন্দরসহ বিভিন্ন কলকারখানায় চাকরি করেন। তাদের পড়তে হয়েছে সীমাহীন দুর্ভোগে।
মিঠাখালী ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান মো. ইস্রাফিল হাওলাদার জানান, ঠোটারডাঙ্গা গ্রামের তালপট্টি খালের পাকা ব্রীজটি ভেঙ্গে পড়ায় বিষয়টি এলজিআরডি জানানো হয়েছে।
এছাড়া আপাতত যাতায়াতের জন্য বাঁশ দিয়ে চার দিয়ে দেওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করা হচ্ছে।
