পটুয়াখালীর গলাচিপায় পানপট্টি ইউনিয়নের গ্রামর্দ্দন গ্রামের দুইটি টিনের দোতলা বসত ঘর আগুন লেগে সম্পূর্ণ ছাই হয়েছে। ঘরে বৈদ্যুতিক লাইনের ত্রুটিজনিত কারণে আগুণের সূত্রপাত বলে প্রাথমিকভাব ধারণা করছেন ঘর মালিক সাইফুল হাওলাদার ও বেলায়েত হাওলাদার। সোমবার রাত অনুমান একটার দিকে এ ঘটনা ঘটে বলে ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ চেয়ারম্যান মো. আবুল কালাম বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
গ্রামর্দ্দন গ্রামের বেলায়েত হাওলাদার জানান, গ্রামর্দ্দন গ্রামের আমার ভাইয়ের ঘর থেকে আগুনের সূত্রপাত। এলাকাবাসী ধারণা করছেন বৈদ্যুতিক তার থেকে আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয় পরে আগুনের তীব্রতা বাড়লে সাইফুল হাওলাদার ঘরের পরই চারদিক আগুন ছড়িয়ে পড়ে এবং বেলায়েত হাওলাদারের ঘরেও আগুণ লেগে তা সম্পূর্ণ পুড়ে ছাই হয়ে যায়।
এতে ওই পরিবারগুলোর প্রায় ১০ থেকে ১২ লাখ টাকার ক্ষতি হয়েছে বলে ধারণা করা হচ্ছে। এ বিষয় পানপট্টি ইউপি চেয়ারম্যান মো. আবুল কালাম বলেন, ‘খবর পাওয়ার পরই আমরা ঘটনা স্থল পরিদর্শনে গিয়েছি। এলাকাবাসী আপ্রাণ চেষ্টা করেও আগুণ নেভাতে সক্ষম হয়নি। ঘর দুটি পুড়ে যাওয়ায় পরিবার দুটি অসহায় হয়ে পড়েছে।’
