গাজীপুরের শ্রীপুর উপজেলার তেলিহাটি ইউনিয়নের টেপিরবাড়ী গ্রামের একটি ক্যামিকেল কারখানায় অগ্নিকাণ্ডের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে ফায়ার সার্ভিসে ৫ টি ইউনিট কাজ শুরু করেছে।আজ বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেল সাড়ে চারটার দিকে এ আগুনের সূত্রপাত হয়। এ সময় আশপাশে ধোঁয়ার কুন্ডলি ছড়িয়ে পড়ায় স্থানীয়দের মধ্যে আতঙ্ক বিরাজ করছে।
নাম প্রকাশে অনিচ্ছুক কারখানার এক কর্মকর্তা জানান, বিকেল সাড়ে চারটার দিকে কারখানার হাইড্রোজেন পার অক্সাইড মেশিনে বিকল শব্দে কিছু একটা বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনা ঘটে। মুহুর্তেই আগুন ছড়িয়ে পড়ে পুরো মেশিন জুড়ে।
শ্রীপুর ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্স স্টেশনের কর্মকর্তা মিয়ারাজ জানান, আগুন লাগার সংবাদে প্রথমে শ্রীপুর ফায়ার সার্ভিসের দুইটি ইউনিট কাজ শুরু করে। পরে আগুণের ভয়াবহতা বেশি হওয়ায় জয়দেবপুর ও পার্শ্ববর্তী ময়মনসিংহের ভালুকার আরো দুটি ইউনিট আগুন নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনতে কাজ শুরু করেছে। প্রাথমিক ভাবে হতাহতের সংখ্যা ও আগুন লাগার কারণ নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি।আগুনের বিষয়ে কারখানা কর্তৃপক্ষের কোন প্রকার বক্তব্য পাওয়া যায়নি।
