নোয়াখালীর চৌমুহনীতে গত শুক্রবারের হামলায় নিহত যতন সাহা ও প্রান্ত দাসের পরিবার এবং ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত মন্দির সংস্কারের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তা দিয়েছেন সদর-সুবর্নচর আসনের সংসদ সদস্য একরামুল করিম চৌধুরী।
আজ বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে তিনি ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছে নিহত দুই পরিবারের স্বজনদের খোঁজ খবর নেন। তাদের সঙ্গে কিছু সময় কাটান। পরে দুই পরিবারকে দুই লাখ টাকা করে মোট চার লাখ টাকা অনুদান দেন। এরপর হামলায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত কয়েকটি মন্দির পরিদর্শন করে সেগুলো সংস্কারের জন্য চার লাখ টাকা অনুদান দেন।
এ সময় তিনি হামলার ভিডিও ফুটেজ দেখে ঘটনার সাথে জড়িতদের প্রত্যেককে দ্রুত গ্রেপ্তার ও দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি নিশ্চিত করার দাবি জানান। হামলায় ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হিন্দু সম্প্রদায়ের পাশে দাঁড়ানোর জন্য দলীয় নেতাকর্মীদেরকে নির্দেশ দেন।
এ সময় জেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান এবিএম জাফর উল্যা, নোয়াখালী সদর উপজেলা পরিষদের চেয়ারম্যান একেএম সামছুদ্দিন জেহান, জেলা যুবলীগের আহবায়ক ইমন ভট্ট, একরামুল হক বিপ্লব সহ দলীয় নেতাকর্মীরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
