মালয়েশিয়ার সেলাঙ্গরের মুকিম, ডেংকিল এলাকায় ২১ জুন রাতে একটি নির্মাণাধীন স্থাপনায় অভিযান চালিয়ে ৩০৯ জন অবৈধ অভিবাসীকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে ইমিগ্রেশন বিভাগ।
অভিবাসন বিভাগের পরিচালক দাতুক সেরি ইন্দেরা খায়রুল দাযাইমি দাউদের নেতৃত্বে অভিবাসন বিভাগ, জেনারেল মুভমেন্ট টিম (পিজিএ), জাতীয় নিবন্ধকরণ বিভাগ (জেপিএন), জনপ্রতিরক্ষা বাহিনী এবং শ্রম বিভাগের ১৮৯ কর্মকর্তার সমন্বয়ে পরিচালিত এ অভিযানে ৭১৫ অভিবাসী আটকের পর কাগজপত্র যাচাই-বাছাই শেষে ৩০৯ জন অবৈধ অভিবাসীকে গ্রেপ্তার করে নিয়ে যায় ইমিগ্রেশন পুলিশ।
এদিকে অভিবাসন বিভাগ বলছে,বিভিন্ন অপরাধে ২০ থেকে ৫২ বছর বয়সের ওই বিদেশিদের ১৯৫৯/৬৩-এর ইমিগ্রেশন আইন এবং ইমিগ্রেশন রেগুলেশন ১৯৬৩-এর আওতায় তাদের গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে।
এর আগে গত ৬ জুন একইভাবে দেশটির সাইবার জায়ার একটি নির্মাণ স্থাপনা থেকে ৬২ বাংলাদেশিসহ ১৫৬ জন অবৈধ অভিবাসীকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। তবে এ অভিযানে কতজন বাংলাদেশি রয়েছেন, এ রিপোর্ট লেখা পর্যন্ত তা জানা যায়নি।
