অবশেষে করোনামুক্ত হলেন সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও বিএনপির চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়া। করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হওয়ার ২৭ দিন পর তিনি করোনা ‘নেগেটিভ’ হলেন।
বিএনপির চেয়ারপারসনের একজন ব্যক্তিগত চিকিৎসক আজ রাত সোয়া একটার দিকে খালেদা জিয়ার করোনা নেগেটিভ হওয়ার কথা নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
তিনি জানান, এর আগে দুই বার ও আজ নিয়ে মোট তিন বার খালেদা জিয়ার করোনা পরীক্ষা করা হয়েছে। প্রথম দুই দফার পরীক্ষায় বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার শরীরে করোনার উপস্থিতি পাওয়া গেলেও এবার তৃতীয় পরীক্ষায় তাঁর শরীরে করোনার উপস্থিতি পাওয়া যায়নি।
খালেদা জিয়া গত ১১ এপ্রিল পরীক্ষার জন্য নমুনা দেন। ওই দিন রাতেই পরীক্ষার ফলাফলে দেখা যায়, তিনি করোনাভাইরাসে আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন। এরপর গত ২৫ এপ্রিল আবারও নমুনা পরীক্ষা করা হলে তিনি করোনা পজিটিভই ছিলেন।
গত ২৭ এপ্রিল সাময়িক সময়ের জন্য এভার কেয়ার হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়। বর্তমানে তাকে সিসিইউ ইউনিটে রাখা হয়েছে।
