ফিলিস্তিনের গাজা উপত্যকায় ফিলিস্তিনিদের ওপর যৌথ আক্রমণ শুরু করেছে ইসরায়েলের বিমান ও স্থল বাহিনী। বৃহস্পতিবার থেকে এই আক্রমণ শুরু হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে ইসরায়েলি প্রতিরক্ষা বাহিনী (আইডিএফ)।
আইডিএফের এক মুখপাত্র জেরুজালেম পোস্টকে জানায়, গত সোমবার থেকে শুরু হওয়া ইসরায়েলের ‘অপারেশন গার্ডিয়ানস অব দ্য ওয়াল’ নামের এই সশস্ত্র অভিযানে ফিলিস্তিনি সশস্ত্র গোষ্ঠী হামাসের সাত শতাধিক স্থাপনায় হামলা চালানো হয়েছে।
গত চারদিনে ফিলিস্তিনে যত হামলা চালানো হয়েছে তার ৯৫ শতাংশই আকাশপথে ছিল বলে জানিয়েছে ইসরায়েলি বাহিনী। হামাসের যে ক্ষতি হয়েছে তা পূরণ করতে তাদের কয়েক বছর লেগে যাবে বলে দাবি করেছে ইসরায়েল।
আইডিএফের দাবি করেছে, গত সোমবার থেকে এ পর্যন্ত তাদের আক্রমণে হামাসের শীর্ষ ১০ নেতাসহ অন্তত ৬০ সদস্য নিহত হয়েছেন।
এর আগে বৃহস্পতিবার গাজা সীমান্তে ইসরায়েল বিপুল পরিমাণ সেনা ও ট্যাঙ্ক মোতায়েন করার খবর পাওয়া যায়। ঈদুল ফিতরের দিনও ফিলিস্তিনে বোমাবর্ষণ করে ইসরায়েল। এখন পর্যন্ত তাদের হামলায় শতাধিক ফিলিস্তিনি নিহত হয়েছে।
