আওয়ামী লীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং সড়ক পরিবহন ও সেতুমন্ত্রী ওবায়দুল কাদের বলেছেন, বিএনপিকে জনগণ ক্ষমা করেনি বলেই দলটি ক্রমশ জনবিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে ৷ আজ শুক্রবার সকালে সরকারি বাসভবনে নিয়মিত ব্রিফিংয়ে এসব কথা বলেন সেতুমন্ত্রী।
তিনি বলেন, প্রকৃতপক্ষে সরকার জনগণের কল্যাণে কাজ করছে বলেই জনগণ বার বার শেখ হাসিনাকে সরকার পরিচালনার দায়িত্ব দিচ্ছেন। বিএনপির সব কর্মসূচি রাষ্ট্র ও জনগণের বিপক্ষে। বিএনপি জণগণ দ্বারা আন্দোলন ও নির্বাচনে বার বার প্রত্যাখ্যাত হয়ে প্রতিশোধ নিচ্ছে জীবন্ত মানুষ আর সম্পদ পুড়িয়ে। জনগণ তাদের ক্ষমা করেনি বলেই এখনও অতীতের অপরাধের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করছে।
ওবায়দুল কাদের আরও বলেন, আওয়ামী লীগ এরইমধ্যে কেন্দ্রসহ অন্য পর্যায়ে বিভিন্ন কমিটি, উপ-কমিটি গঠন করেছে, অনুমোদনও দিয়েছে। এসব ঘোষিত কমিটির বিষয়ে কেউ কেউ সংক্ষুব্ধ হলে কিংবা কারও অভিযোগ থাকলে দলের গঠনতন্ত্র অনুযায়ী আপিলের সুযোগ থাকবে। আবার কারও কমিটির বিষয়ে যেকোনও অভিযোগ ধানমন্ডি ৩/এ তে নির্বাচনী ট্রাইব্যুনালে জমা দেওয়া যাবে।
