যাবজ্জীবন সাজা মানে আমৃত্যু কারাদণ্ড- এ সংক্রান্ত আপিল বিভাগের রায়ের বিরুদ্ধে করা রিভিউ আবেদনের রায়ের জন্য আগামী ১লা ডিসেম্বর দিন ধার্য করেছেন সর্বোচ্চ আদালত।
আজ মঙ্গলবার প্রধান বিচারপতি সৈয়দ মাহমুদ হোসেনের নেতৃত্বাধীন সাত বিচাপতির আপিল বেঞ্চ রায়ের জন্য এ দিন ধার্য করেন। এর আগে গত বছরের ১১ই জুলাই রিভিউ মামলাটি রায়ের জন্য অপেক্ষমাণ রাখা হয়। আদালতে রিভিউ আবেদনের পক্ষে শুনানি করেন অ্যাডভোকেট খন্দকার মাহবুব হোসেন।
এ ছাড়া আদালতে এ মামলায় অ্যামিকাস কিউরি (আদালতবন্ধু) হিসেবে মতামত তুলে ধরেন ব্যারিস্টার রোকন উদ্দিন মাহমুদ, সাবেক অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল এ এফ হাসান আরিফ, অ্যাডভোকেট আবদুর রেজাক খান ও সুপ্রিম কোর্ট আইনজীবী সমিতির সভাপতি ও বর্তমান অ্যাটর্নি জেনারেল অ্যাডভোকেট এ এম আমিন উদ্দিন।
