জলবায়ুর পরিবর্তনের প্রভাব দূর করা ও প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদ বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে পটুয়াখালী জেলা পরিষদের অর্থায়নে গলাচিপার রতনদী তালতলী-কাচারীকান্দা সড়কের দু’পাশে বৃক্ষরোপন কর্মসূচী উদ্বোধন করা হয়।

বিশেষ অতিথি হিসেবে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জেলা পরিষদ প্যানেল চেয়ারম্যান বীর মুক্তিযোদ্ধা গোলাম মস্তোফা টিটু, জেলা পরিষদ সদস্য মো.মিজানুর রহমান, জেলা পরিষদ মহিলা সদস্য ইসরাত জাহান আসমা, জেলা পরিষদ সহকারী প্রকৌশলী হাজী মো.শাহজাহান, সহকারী প্রকৌশলী মো.মনিরুজ্জামান, সার্ভেয়ার মাঈনুল ইসলাম, গলাচিপা বন কর্মকর্তা মোঃ মসিউর রহমান সহ এলাকার গণ্যমাণ্য ব্যক্তিগণ।
জেলা পরিষদ সূত্রে জানা যায়, প্রায় তিন কিলো মিটার রাস্তার পাশে দুই হাজার তালগাছের চারা এবং আড়াই হাজার মেহগনি ও রেন্ট্রি গাছের চারা রোপন কর্মসূচি নেওয়া হয়েছে।
