সৌদির সহায়তায় দেশের আটটি বিভাগে সব ধরণের সুযোগ-সুবিধাসহ ৮টি ‘আইকনিক মসজিদ’নির্মিত হবে।
বলছিলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনা। বৃহস্পতিবার (২৬ নভেম্বর) সকালে নব নিযুক্ত সৌদি রাষ্ট্রদূত ঈসা বিন ইউসেফ আল-দুহাইলান প্রধানমন্ত্রীর রাষ্ট্রীয় বাসভবন গণভবনে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেন। এ সময় প্রধানমন্ত্রী মসজিদ নির্মাণের বিষয়ে আলোচনা করেন। ওই বৈঠকের পর প্রধানমন্ত্রীর প্রেস সচিব ইহসানুল করিম সাংবাদিকদের ব্রিফ করেন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, সৌদি আরবের সহায়তায় উপজেলা পর্যায়ে ৫৬০টি মডেল মসজিদ-কাম-ইসলামিক সাংস্কৃতিক কেন্দ্র নির্মিত হচ্ছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী সৌদির সহযোগিতায় বায়তুল মোকাররম জাতীয় মসজিদের উন্নয়নের কথাও স্মরণ করেন।
সৌদি রাষ্ট্রদূত আশা ব্যক্ত করেন, দু’দেশের মধ্যকার বিদ্যমান সম্পর্ক প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার নেতৃত্বে আরো গভীর ও দৃঢ় হবে। এ সময় সৌদি রাষ্ট্রদূত প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার গতিশীল নেতৃত্বের ভূয়সী প্রশংসা করেন।
