বেতন বাড়ানোর দাবিতে রাজধানীর মিরপুরে চতুর্থ দিনের মতো সড়ক অবরোধ করে বিক্ষোভ করছেন গার্মেন্টস শ্রমিকরা। সোমবার সকাল সাড়ে ৮টার দিকে মিরপুর ১৩ নম্বরে সড়ক অবরোধ করে কয়েকশ গার্মেন্টস শ্রমিক বিক্ষোভ শুরু করেন।
এ সময় মিরপুর ১৩ নম্বর থেকে ১৪ নম্বর পর্যন্ত যান চলাচল বন্ধ থাকে।
সকাল সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে পুলিশ আন্দোলনকারী শ্রমিকদের ছত্রভঙ্গ করতে লাঠিচার্জ ও টিয়ারশেল নিক্ষেপ করে।
এতে বেশ কয়েকজন আহত হন। পরে শ্রমিকরাও মারমুখী হয়ে উঠে। এতে পুরো এলাকা রণক্ষেত্রে পরিণত হয়।
পল্লবী জোনের সহকারী পুলিশ কমিশনার (প্যাট্রল) মাহবুব বলেন, শ্রমিকরা মিরপুর ১৩ নম্বরের রাস্তায় আছে। আমরা তাদের সরানোর চেষ্টা করছি।
শ্রমিকদের দাবি, নিত্যপণ্যের দাম অনেকে বেড়েছে, তাই তারা সংসার চালাতে হিমশিম খাচ্ছেন। আন্দোলনকারী এক শ্রমিক বলেন, ‘আমাদের দাবি বেতন বৃদ্ধি করা হোক, না হলে নিত্যপণ্যের মূল্য কমাতে হবে। ’
