ঢাকার হযরত শাহজালাল আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দরে ১ কেজির বেশি ওজনের স্বর্ণসহ এক যাত্রীকে আটক করেছে কাস্টম হাউস প্রিভেন্টিভ টিম। উদ্ধারকৃত স্বর্ণের আনুমানিক ওজন ১.২৫৮ কেজি এবং বাজারমূল্য প্রায় ৯৩ লাখ টাকা।
বৃহস্পতিবার বিকাল ৫টার দিকে এয়ার আরাবিয়ার একটি ফ্লাইট থেকে শারজাহ ফেরত ওই যাত্রীকে আটক করা হয়। আটককৃত যাত্রীর নাম ওমর ফারুক।
জানা যায়, গ্রীন চ্যানেল অতিক্রমকালে ওমর ফারুকের লাগেজ স্ক্যান করে তাকে আর্চওয়ে করানো হয়। স্ক্যানিংয়ে তার লাগেজের ভেতর স্বর্ণ ধরা পড়ে। পরে তার প্যান্টের পকেট থেকে স্বর্ণ উদ্ধার ছাড়াও কাস্টম ব্যাগেজ কাউন্টারের লাগেজ খুলে ৮টি স্বর্ণবার ও তার পরিহিত প্যান্ট থেকে ২টি স্বর্ণবার এবং ৯৮ গ্রাম স্বর্ণালংকার পাওয়া যায়। স্বর্ণ ও যাত্রীর বিষয়ে ফৌজদারী মামলাসহ কাস্টম আইনে যথাযথ ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছে কর্তৃপক্ষ।
