ফরিদপুরের সেই আওয়ামী লীগের নেতা সাজ্জাদ হোসেন বরকত ও তার ভাই ইমতিয়াজ হাসান রুবেলের অর্থপাচার মামলায় পাঁচ হাজার ৭০৬ বিঘা জমি ক্রোকের আদেশ দিয়েছেন আদালত। পুলিশের অপরাধ তদন্ত বিভাগের (সিআইডি) আবেদনের পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে বৃহস্পতিবার ঢাকার মহানগর দায়রা জজ কেএম ইমরুল কায়েশ এ আদেশ দেন।
আদালতের সরকারি কৌঁসুলি (পিপি) তাপস কুমার পাল এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, অর্থপাচার মামলায় সাজ্জাদ হোসেন বরকত, তার ভাই ইমতিয়াজ হাসান রুবেলসহ পাঁচজনের ৮৮টি ব্যাংক হিসাব আজ ক্রোকের আদেশ দিয়েছেন আদালত। একই সঙ্গে তাদের ১৮৮টি ব্যাংক হিসাবে থাকা প্রায় ১০ কোটি টাকা এবং তাদের মালিকানাধীন ৫৫টি বাস, ট্রাক ও ব্যক্তিগত গাড়ি ক্রোক করারও আদেশও দিয়েছেন আদালত।
বরকত ও রুবেলের বিরুদ্ধে সিআইডির পরিদর্শক এসএম মিরাজ আল মাহমুদ বাদী হয়ে গত বছরের ২৬ জুন ঢাকার কাফরুল থানায় অর্থপাচারের অভিযোগে মামলা করেন। মামলায় ওই দুই ভাইয়ের বিরুদ্ধে দুই হাজার কোটি টাকার সম্পদ অবৈধ উপায়ে উপার্জন ও পাচারের অভিযোগ আনা হয়।
