বৈরি আবহাওয়া ও সাগরে লঘু চাপের প্রভাবে টেকনাফ থেকে সেন্টমার্টিন পর্যন্ত নৌ-যোগাযোগ বন্ধ রাখা হয়েছে। এতে সেন্টমার্টিনে শতাধিক পর্যটক আটকা পরেছেন।
এছাড়া নোয়াখালী-হাতিয়া নৌপথেও কোনো লঞ্চ ও ট্রলার ছাড়েনি দুর্ঘটনার আশঙ্কায়।
সোমবার থেকে টেকনাফ-সেন্টমার্টিন রুটে নৌযান চলাচল বন্ধের সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় স্থানীয় প্রশাসন। গেল রোববার সকালে কক্সবাজার থেকে কর্ণফুলী এক্সপ্রেস এবং টেকনাফ থেকে কয়েকটি ট্রলারে দুই শতাধিক পর্যটক সেন্টমার্টিন ভ্রমণে যান।
সেদিন কিছু পর্যটক মূল ভূখণ্ডে ফিরে আসলেও বাকিরা আটকা পড়েন সেন্টমার্টিনে।
এদিকে নোয়াখালীতে লঘুচাপের প্রভাবে দিনভর বৃষ্টি হয়েছে। দুর্ঘটনার শঙ্কায় নোয়াখালী সদর থেকে কোনো নৌযান হাতিয়ার উদ্দেশ্যে ছেড়ে যায়নি।
