সরকার চলতি বোরো মৌসুমে ৪০ টাকা কেজি দরে ১০ লাখ মেট্রিক টন সেদ্ধ চাল, ৩৯ টাকা কেজি দরে ১ লাখ ৫০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন আতপ চাল এবং ২৭ টাকা কেজি দরে ৬ লাখ ৫০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন ধান কেনা সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে।
সংবাদ সম্মেলনে আজ সোমবার (২৬ এপ্রিল) বেলা ১১টায় এক অনলাইন ভার্চুয়াল এসব তথ্য জানান খাদ্যমন্ত্রী সাধন চন্দ্র মজুমদার।
তিনি বলেন, বোরো ধান আগামী ২৮ এপ্রিল ২০২১ থেকে এবং চাল ৭ মে থেকে সংগ্রহ শুরু হবে। উভয় সংগ্রহ শেষ হবে আগস্ট মাসের ৩১ তারিখ।
এর আগে বৃহস্পতিবার (২২ এপ্রিল) খাদ্য পরিকল্পনা ও পরিধারণ কমিটির এক ভার্চুয়াল সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ওই সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন খাদ্যমন্ত্রী সাধন চন্দ্র মজুমদার।
সে সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন কৃষিমন্ত্রী ড. মো. আব্দুর রাজ্জাক, অর্থমন্ত্রী আ হ ম মুস্তফা কামাল, বাণিজ্যমন্ত্রী টিপু মুনশি, স্বাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী জাহিদ মালেক, মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ মন্ত্রী শ. ম. রেজাউল করিম, ত্রাণ প্রতিমন্ত্রী ডা. মো. এনামুর রহমান ও খাদ্য মন্ত্রণালয়সহ সংশ্লিষ্ট মন্ত্রণালয়ের ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তারা।
