তুরস্ককে পেছনে ফেলে এশিয়ার মধ্যে করোনা আক্রান্তের সংখ্যায় শীর্ষস্থানে পৌঁছেছে ভারত। দেশটিতে গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় করোনা ভাইরাসে ২৬৫ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। নতুন সংক্রমণ হয়েছে ৭ হাজার ৯৬৪ জনের। একদিনে মৃতের সংখ্যার নিরিখে এটিই সবচেয়ে বেশি। এর একদিন আগেই তুরস্ককে পেছনে ফেলে এশিয়ার এ দেশটি।
স্বাস্থ্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের হিসাব অনুযায়ী, ভারতে এ পর্যন্ত মোট ৪ হাজার ৯৭১ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। মোট আক্রান্ত হয়েছে ১ লাখ ৭৩ হাজার ৭৬৩ জন। সুস্থ হয়েছে ৮২ হাজার ৩৭০ জন। আজ (শনিবার) সকাল ৮ টা পর্যন্ত কেন্দ্রীয় স্বাস্থ্য দফতরের পরিসংখ্যানে ওই তথ্য জানা গেছে।
করোনায় মৃতের সংখ্যায় বরাবরই এগিয়ে রয়েছে মহারাষ্ট্র। এখানে এ পর্যন্ত ২ হাজার ৯৮ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় সেখানে ১১৬ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। এ পর্যন্ত আক্রান্ত হয়েছেন ৩৩ হাজার ১৩৩ জন।
প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির রাজ্য গুজরাটে করোনায় এ পর্যন্ত ৯৮০ জনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। গত ২৪ ঘণ্টায় রাজ্যটিতে ২০ জন মারা গেছে। সেখানে ৬ হাজার ৩৪৩ জন আক্রান্ত হয়েছে।
