“মুজিববর্ষে শপথ নিবো, জাটকা নয় ইলিশ খাবো” প্রতিপাদ্যের আলোকে, মৎস্য অধিদপ্তর ও প্রাণীসম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয় এর উদ্দেগে জাটক সংরক্ষণ সপ্তাহ ২০২১ই উজ্জাপন হওয়ায় ৪ এপ্রিল থেকে ১১ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত দেশের ইলিশ অভয়ারণ্য নদী গুলোতে অভিযানের ভিত্তিতে পটুয়াখালীর গলাচিপা উপজেলা সিনিয়র মৎস্য কর্মকর্তার কার্যলয়ের মোঃ জহিরুন্নবী এর নেতৃত্বে আজ (৬ এপ্রিল) মঙ্গলবার ভোর ৬ থেকে আগুন মূখা, রামনাবাদ ও বূড়াগৌরাঙ্গ নদীতে অভিযান চালিয়ে ৩’ হাজার মিটার কারেন্ট ও ৫’ শত মিটার চরবেরো জাল জব্দ করেন।
পরে রাত সারে নয়টার দিকে গলাচিপা ফেরী ঘাটের বালুর মাঠে জব্দকৃত জাল গুলো পুরে ফেলা হয়। এসময় মৎস্য কর্মকর্তা জহিরুন্নবী বলেন, ইলিশ আমাদের জাতীয় রুপালাী সম্পদ।
তাই “ইলিশ” বড় হওয়ার সময়ে গলাচিপা উপজেলার বিভিন্ন নদ- নদীতে মৎস্য অধিদপ্তর ও প্রাণীসম্পদ মন্ত্রনালয়ের সরকারী প্রজ্ঞাপোণ অনুযায়ী অভিযান পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। যদিও জাটকা নিধন অভিযান সব সময় হলেও, ইলিশ সংরক্ষণ সপ্তাহ অভিযান চলতি ১১ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত চলবে বলে তিনি জানান।
