চিঠির পেক্ষিতে পুলিশের মহাপরিদর্শক (আইজিপি) ড. বেনজির আহমেদ বৈঠকের সময় দিয়েছে বিএনপিকে। বৃহস্পতিবার বিকেল সাড়ে ৪টায় আইজিপির কার্যালয়ে বিএনপির প্রতিনিধি দলের এ বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।
মঙ্গলবার সকালে বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের প্রেস উইং সদস্য শায়রুল কবির খান নিউজ টোয়েন্টিফোরকে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন।
পুলিশ প্রধানের সঙ্গে বৈঠকে বিএনপির প্রতিনিধি দলে থাকবেন বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসনের উপদেষ্টা আব্দুস সালাম, বিজন কান্তি সরকার, বিএনপির প্রচার সম্পাদক শহীদ উদ্দিন চৌধুরী এ্যানী ও বিএনপির মুক্তিযোদ্ধা বিষয়ক সম্পাদক কর্নেল (অব.) জয়নুল আবেদীন।
বৈঠকে বিএনপির উদ্যোগে স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণ জয়ন্তী উদযাপন উপলক্ষে গৃহীত কর্মসূচির সার্বিক নিরাপত্তা ও সহযোগিতার বিষয়ে আলোচনা হবে বলে জানান শায়রুল কবির।
