নারায়ণগঞ্জের রূপগঞ্জে বিদ্যুতের তার ছিঁড়ে ঘরে আগুন লেগে একই পরিবারের চারজনের মৃত্যু হয়েছে। শুক্রবার (২২ জানুয়ারি) রাত ৯টার দিকে উপজেলার কুমারটেক এলাকায় এ ঘটনা ঘটে।
নিহতরা হলেন- মো. মাসুম (৪০), তার স্ত্রী সীমা আক্তার (৩৩), ছেলে রাসেল মিয়া (১৭) ও রহমত উল্লাহ (১০)।
পূর্বাচল ফায়ার সার্ভিস ও সিভিল ডিফেন্সের স্টেশন অফিসার উদ্দীপন ভক্ত বলেন, নিহত ব্যক্তিদের ঘরের উপর দিয়ে ডেসকো ও পল্লী বিদ্যুৎয়ের লাইন গেছে। প্রথমে ডেসকোর তার ছিঁড়ে পল্লী বিদ্যুতের লাইনের উপর পড়ে। সেখান থেকে তাদের ঘরের চালায় পড়ে আগুন লেগে যায় এবং সারা ঘর বিদ্যুতায়িত হয়।
‘খবর পেয়ে আগুন নেভানো হয়েছে। এতে মাসুম মিয়া, তার ছেলে রহমত উল্লাহ ও আব্দুল্লাহ বিদ্যুৎস্পৃষ্ট হয়ে মারা যান। আর তার স্ত্রীকে উদ্ধার করে আশঙ্কাজনক অবস্থায় উপজেলা স্বাস্থ্য কমপ্লেক্সে পাঠানো হয়। সেখানে তার মৃত্যু হয়। ’
তিনি আরো বলেন, স্থানীয়দের দাবি এক হাজার ভোল্টের বৈদ্যুতিক লাইন ছিল। তদন্ত করে বিস্তারিত পরে জানানো হবে।
