হঠাৎ করেই বেড়েছে শীতের তীব্রতা। বিশেষ করে উত্তরাঞ্চলসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন জেলায় শৈত্যপ্রবাহ চলায় শীতের তীব্রতা আরও প্রকট। আবহাওয়া অফিস সূত্রে জানা গেছে এই শৈত্যপ্রবাহ চলতে পারে আরও ২ থেকে ৩ দিন। এরমধ্যে শৈত্যপ্রবাহের তীব্রতা আরও বাড়তে পারে বলেও জানায় প্রতিষ্ঠানটি।
আবহাওয়াবিদরা জানান, রাজশাহী, পাবনা, নওগাঁ, দিনাজপুর, কুড়িগ্রাম ও সৈয়দপুরে শৈত্যপ্রবাহ থাকবে। এর প্রভাব রাজধানীসহ দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে পড়বে। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার নওগাঁয় সর্বনিম্ন তাপমাত্রা রেকর্ড করা হয়েছে। এছাড়াও উত্তরাঞ্চলের বেশ কয়েকটি জেলায় তাপমাত্রা বেশ কম।
এ ব্যাপারে আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তরের আবহাওয়াবিদ আফতাব উদ্দীন বলেন, দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থানে মৃদু শৈত্যপ্রবাহ রয়েছে। ফলে শীত বেড়ে গেছে। এটি দু’তিন দিন স্থায়ী হতে পারে। আবহাওয়া অধিদপ্তরের পূর্বাভাসে বলা হয়েছে, দেশের উত্তর-পশ্চিমাঞ্চল দিয়ে বয়ে যাওয়া মৃদু শৈত্যপ্রবাহটি একই এলাকা দিয়ে বয়ে যেতে পারে। দিন ও রাতের তাপমাত্রা আরও কমতে পারে।
