সার্চ ইঞ্জিন পরিষেবায় ক্ষমতার অপব্যবহারের দায়ে গুগলকে বড় অংকের জরিমানা করলো তুরস্ক। বুধবার প্রতিষ্ঠানটিকে ৩৬ দশমিক ৬ মিলিয়ন ডলার জরিমানা করে দেশটির কমপিটিশন বোর্ড। বাংলাদেশি মুদ্রায় এর পরিমাণ দাঁড়ায় ৩১০ কোটি ১৯ লাখ এক হাজার ৬০৬ টাকা।
তার্কিশ কমপিটিশন বোর্ড জানিয়েছে, গ্রাহকদের অর্থের বিনিময়ে পরিষেবা দেওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে গুগল বাড়তি সুবিধা দেয়ার ফলে অসম প্রতিযোগিতার মুখে পড়ছে প্রতিদ্বন্দী প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলো। সার্চ ইঞ্জিন পরিষেবায় এমন অসমতা তৈরির দায়ে গুগলকে এ জরিমানা করা হয়েছে।
জরিমানার পাশাপাশি গুগলকে প্রতিযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোকে বিপাকে না ফেলার বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করতে বলা হয়েছে। আগামী ছয় মাসের মধ্যে প্রতিষ্ঠানটিকে এটি নিশ্চিত করতে হবে।
