জিয়াউর রহমানের ‘বীর উত্তম’ খেতাব বাতিলের বিষয়ে তদন্ত কমিটির প্রতিবেদন পাওয়ার পর পরবর্তী সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হবে বলে জানিয়েছেন মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়কমন্ত্রী আ ক ম মোজাম্মেল হক।
সোমবার (১৯ এপ্রিল) দুপুরে সচিবালয় ক্লিনিকে করোনা ভাইরাস প্রতিরোধে টিকার দ্বিতীয় ডোজ নেওয়ার পর সাংবাদিকদের এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে তিনি একথা জানান।
বিএনপির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা জিয়াউর রহমানের খেতাব বাতিলের বিষয়ে এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে মুক্তিযুদ্ধ বিষয়কমন্ত্রী বলেন, জিয়াউর রহমানের খেতাব বাতিলের বিষয়ে আপডেট তদন্ত কমিটি বলবে। এখন যেহেতু করোনা ভাইরাসের কারণে সব বন্ধ আছে, আমি ঠিক জানি না তাদের অগ্রগতি কী।
‘এখনো তাদের নির্ধারিত সময় শেষ হয়নি। দুই মাস সময় ছিল, এখনও এক মাসের মতো বাকি আছে। প্রতিবেদন পাওয়ার পর আমরা পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ নেবো। ’
জিয়াউর রহমানের ‘বীর উত্তম’ খেতাব বাতিলের বিষয়ে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে তিন সদস্যের কমিটি গঠন করেছে জাতীয় মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কাউন্সিল (জামুকা)। জামুকার সদস্য ও সাংসদ মোশাররফ হোসেনকে কমিটির প্রধান করা হয়েছে। কমিটির অপর দুই সদস্য হলেন সংসদ সদস্য শাজাহান খান ও মো. রশিদুল আলম।
