মিয়ানমারের মান্দালয় শহরে শনিবার পুলিশের গুলিতে অন্তত দু’জন বিক্ষোভকারী নিহত হয়েছেন। এছাড়া আহত হয়েছেন অন্তত ২০ জন। খবর এএফপির।
শহরের জরুরি সেবাদানকারী সংস্থা পারাহিতা দারহির স্বেদ্ধাসেবী কো অং এএফপিকে বলেন, ‘২০ জন আহত হয়েছেন ও দু’জন মারা গেছেন।’
মান্দালয়ে পুলিশের সঙ্গে সংঘর্ষে বিক্ষোভকারীরা ইটপাটকেল ছোড়ে। জবাবে পুলিশ টিয়ার গ্যাস ছোড়ে ও গুলি চালায়। তবে এটি রাবার বুলেট নাকি গুলি তা এখনো নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি।
ভয়েস অব মিয়ানমারের সহকারী সম্পাদক লিন খাইয়াংসহ একাধিক গণমাধ্যম কর্মী জানিয়েছেন, মাথায় গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে একজন মারা গেছেন।
এক স্বেচ্ছাসেবী চিকিৎসক দু’জন মৃত্যুর বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, ‘একজন মাথায় গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে ঘটনাস্থলেই মারা যান। আরেকজন বুকে গুলিবিদ্ধ হওয়ার কিছুক্ষণ পরে মারা যান।’
এ বিষয়ে পুলিশের পক্ষ থেকে এখনো কোনো বক্তব্য পাওয়া যায়নি।
