পটুয়াখালীর গলাচিপায় দুই দিনের ভারি বর্ষণে ডুবে আছে নিচু এলাকা। জলাবদ্ধতা সৃষ্টি হওয়ায় বিপাকে পরেছে সাধারণ মানুষ। সবচেয়ে বেশি ভোগান্তিতে আছে শ্রমজীবী মানুষ। অতিরিক্ত বৃষ্টিতে কাজ বন্ধ রাখতে হয়েছে। তাছাড়া পৌর শহরের বেশিরভাগ দোকানপাট বন্ধ রয়েছে। বৃষ্টিতে জনজীবন আটকে গেছে। শহর কিংবা গ্রাম সব একই চিত্র। পানিতে রান্নার চুলা পর্যন্ত ডুবে গেছে হাজার হাজার পরিবারের।
বৃষ্টির সঙ্গে বিদ্যুৎ না থাকার দূর্ভোগ এক হয়ে চরম ভোগান্তিতে আছে সাধারণ মানুষ। আমন ক্ষেত পানির নিচে ডুবে আছে। মানুষ কার্যত গৃহবন্দী হয়ে পড়েছেন। বুধবার সন্ধ্যা থেকে বৃহস্পতিবার সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত এ এলাকায় বৃষ্টিপাত অব্যাহত রয়েছে। চার নম্বর সতর্ক সঙ্কেত দেখিয়ে যাওয়ার নির্দেশনা রয়েছে।
