গাজীপুরের শ্রীপুর পৌর এলাকা থেকে ৭২ ক্যান বিয়ারসহ মাসুদ মাদবর (২৯) নামে এক যুবলীগ নেতাকে গ্রেফতার করেছে জেলা পুলিশের গোয়েন্দা শাখার (ডিবি) একটি দল। বুধবার (২৫ আগস্ট) রাত সাড়ে ৯টার দিকে ৮ নম্বর ওয়ার্ডের কেওয়া পশ্চিম খণ্ড এলাকার ভাড়া বাসা থেকে তাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।
মাওনা ইউনিয়ন যুবলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক তরিকুল ইসলাম রিপন বলেন, মাসুদ ইউনিয়ন যুবলীগের সাংগঠনিক সম্পাদক হলেও তার ব্যক্তিগত অপরাধের দায়ভার সংগঠন নেবে না। একজন অপরাধী তার শাস্তি অবশ্যই পাবেন।
ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে গাজীপুর ডিবি পুলিশের উপ-পরিদর্শক (এসআই) ওবায়দুর রহমান বলেন, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে রাতে কেওয়া পশ্চিম খণ্ড এলাকায় মাসুদের ভাড়া বাসায় অভিযান চালানো হয়। এসময় মাসুদের ভাড়ায় তল্লাশি চালিয়ে ৭২ ক্যান বিয়ার পাওয়ায় তাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়।
মাসুদকে মাদক মামলায় আদালতের মাধ্যমে জেলহাজতে পাঠানো হয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন শ্রীপুর থানার ইন্সপেক্টর (তদন্ত) মাহফুজ ইমতিয়াজ ভূঁইয়া।
